Among the Chain Scale segments, four segments each accounted for 15.0 percent or more of rooms Under Contract: Upscale (23.1 percent with 6,901 rooms); Luxury (22.1 percent with 6,586 rooms); Upper Midscale (16.7 percent with 4,977 rooms); and Upper Upscale (15.0 percent with 4,475 rooms).

The New York, New York, hotel market reported negative results in each of the three key performance measurements for the first quarter of 2015, according to data from STR, Inc.
In year-over-year measurements, the industry's occupancy decreased 0.9 percent to 67.0 percent. Average daily rate increased 3.6 percent to finish the week at US$120.16, and revenue per available room for the week was up 2.7 percent to finish at US$80.53.
In year-over-year comparisons, occupancy was down 3.4 percent to 66.2 percent; average daily rate increased 1.4 percent to CAD$136.24; and revenue per available room decreased 2.0 percent to CAD$90.19.
In year-over-year results, the Canadian hotel industry’s occupancy was down 0.4 percent to 55.6 percent. However, its average daily rate rose 2.6 percent to CAD$132.57, and its revenue per available room increased 2.1 percent to CAD$73.72.
In year-over-year results, occupancy was up 3.1 percent to 61.1 percent; average daily rate rose 4.7 percent to US$117.09; and revenue per available room increased 8.0 percent to US$71.56.
