Triometric is an active member of HEDNA (Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association) and one of the co-chairs of the Hotel Analytics Working Group, alongside Excella and NTTData. The Working Group has been addressing the need for more awareness and use of business intelligence to make data-driven operational and distribution decisions. This work has culminated in the release a new white paper to help Hoteliers embrace and optimise the use of data analytics across their organisations. The Working Group exists bring together solutions and best practice to address specific distribution challenges.
Despite global slowdown concerns and political tension between leading economies, travel sentiment towards Europe proves upbeat for the summer period in both China and Brazil. According to the latest results of the Long-Haul Travel Barometer, the travel sentiment index in both markets improved by four points over the same period last year.
European hotel occupancy dipped 0.3% in April to 72%, but ADR rose 3.3% to 110.09 ($122.58) and RevPAR increase 3% to 79.29 ($88.29).
London hotel occupancy dipped 0.6% to 82%, according to preliminary May data from STR. ADR, however rose 1.6% to £147.76 ($188.23), which drove RevPAR up 1% to £121.17 ($154.36).
