As organisations prepare for a future world of work that will look vastly different to today, PwC has launched a new tool allowing them to assess the maturity of their workforce strategy and compare it to others in their region and industry.
Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 312,000 in December, and the unemployment rate rose to 3.9 percent. Job gains occurred in health care, food services and drinking places, construction, manufacturing, and retail trade.
Jobless rates were lower in February than a year earlier in 283 of the 389 metropolitan areas, higher in 67, and unchanged in 39. Nonfarm payroll employment was up in 39 metropolitan areas over the year and essentially unchanged in 350.
Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 196,000 in March, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.8 percent. Notable job gains occurred in health care and in professional and technical services.
