The number of overnight stays in Spanish hotels rose year-on-year in July after a drop the previous month, official data showed on Friday.
The National Statistics Institute (INE) tallied a rise of 0.9 percent in July from the same month last year, which compares with a year-on-year drop of 2.3 percent in June.
The data contrasts with figures issued by INE on Thursday which showed foreign tourists visiting Spain in July had fallen by 8 percent year-on-year.
