New York – May 29, 2002 – There has never been a view of Manhattan quite like it.
Opening in July, the 350-room Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson will offer panoramic views of Manhattan island and the Statute of Liberty from a 165-seat fine dining restaurant, a spacious 8,000 square foot ballroom and 15 breath - taking suites. Each guestroom frames its own view of the Manhattan skyline, allowing guests to feel uniquely a part of the New York City experience, while at the same time relaxing amidst serene river views and state-of-the-art amenities.
The hotel is the first of only two Hyatt Regency’s scheduled to open in North America in 2002. It is jointly owned by Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Mack-Cali Realty Corporation, and represents Mack Cali’s first ever hotel development project. The project is estimated to reach completion at a cost of $102 million and to provide close to 200 jobs to area residents.
Steve White, General Manager, said the Hyatt is the only full-service hotel on the New Jersey shoreline with easy access to New York City. He called the hotel “emblematic of the incredible renaissance of Jersey City.” “With easy access to Manhattan by ferry and car, and only ten minutes from Newark International Airport, the hotel will provide comfortable and welcoming, yet visually stunning accommodations for business and leisure travelers to New York City and New Jersey.”
To highlight the property’s state-of-the-art amenities and unique offerings, Hyatt is offering an introductory summer rates of $159 per night on weekdays, $99 on weekends. White called the rate “an invitation to business and leisure travelers to experience Manhattan as they have never seen it before, from a hotel that will set new standards of lodging excellence for properties in and around the city.”
The Hudson Regency Jersey City on the Hudson is the first full-service hotel in Harborside Financial Center’s south pier. The property features more than 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, in addition to 4,450 square feet of pre-function space, and is equipped with high-speed access. The restaurant also features a restaurant and lounge with a state-of-the-art exhibition kitchen that offers stunning views of Manhattan. Located just nine miles from Newark International Airport, the hotel is just minutes away from many attractions of New York City and is accessible by land or by water.
