Arrow Air Announces Executive Appointments |
|
Luis J. Soto Named President - Donald G. Scott Named Chief Operating Officer |
Arrow Air Holdings Corporation, the parent company of Arrow Air, Inc., today announced the appointment of Luis J. Soto as President. He succeeds Guillermo J. ("Willy") Cabeza, formerly Arrow's Executive Chairman and President, who plans to continue his career in the industry as Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Aviation Management Inc.
The Company also announced today that Donald G. ("Donny") Scott has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Both Luis Soto and Donald Scott will serve on the Board of Directors of Arrow Air Inc.
James J. Pinto, a Director on the Arrow Air Holdings Board, said, "Luis is a highly-experienced manager whose knowledge of our Company and industry makes him ideally suited to lead Arrow forward. Similarly, Donny has extensive experience in the air cargo industry, making him an outstanding addition to the management team. I am confident that both Luis and Donny will be invaluable to the Company in their new positions and will help Arrow achieve even greater growth and success."
Mr. Soto stated, "I am pleased to continue the outstanding work of Willy Cabeza and honored to follow in his footsteps. Willy has been an important part of Arrow's growth and success and we appreciate his many contributions to the company. He helped lead Arrow's successful restructuring and has been instrumental in forging a number of important acquisitions and alliances, in upgrading the company's fleet of aircraft, and in more than doubling revenue over the last four and half years. We thank Willy for all he has done for Arrow and wish him well in his future endeavors."
About Luis J. Soto
Mr. Soto has been an Executive Director at Arrow since 2006 with wide- ranging responsibilities including sales and marketing, yield and capacity management, business development, and flight scheduling. Under his leadership Arrow has grown considerably, opening six new routes and significantly increasing revenue. Prior to joining Arrow, he was President and CEO of Sun Air Cargo. He previously served as President of South Winds Cargo, and before that, he was Vice President of Operations and Marketing at Latin Air Cargo. He began his career at Aerofloral, Inc. where he served in a number of positions including Vice President of Operations and Marketing, Operations Manager and Warehouse and Traffic Manager.
About Donald G. Scott
Mr. Scott, a thirty-year veteran of the air cargo industry, joined Arrow as a consultant in March 2008. He previously served as Managing Director of Tradewinds Airlines, an international cargo airline with daily operations in the United States, Caribbean, South America, Korea, and China. He earlier served as Vice President at PostalAir, Inc., where he was responsible for the company's United States Postal Service network operations. Earlier in his career, at Kitty Hawk, Inc, he served in a number of positions of increasing authority including Vice President and General Manager. Mr. Scott's experience also includes airport ground support and financial services. He began his career in aviation with cargo carrier Summit Airlines.
About Arrow Cargo
Arrow Cargo is the largest US certificated (Part 121) all cargo air carrier operating out of Miami International Airport. Arrow Cargo currently operates a fleet of seven DC-10 series aircraft and two DC-8 series aircraft. Arrow Cargo expects to grow its fleet of DC-10 aircraft to nine by the end of the year and replace its DC-8 fleet with four B757 freighters. The first B757 is expected to join Arrow Cargo's fleet in the late summer.
